How To Make A
Phone Charm Strap

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to make your own phone charm at home!

Materials Needed

  • Beads

  • Plate to hold your beads (so they don't run away)

  • Charms

  • String (Elastic or Nylon)

  • Scissors

*In my Charmed by remee DIY kit, I provide 40 beads, 1 charm & string (already tied)

01

Add Beads & Charms to the cord

  • Thread the beads on each side of the cord. Since we provide 40 beads, it's about 20 beads per side.

  • You can create any pattern or design you like. I like to be random and just thread threw. You can add all of them, or if you want it to be shorter, you can not put all the beads. It is up to you!

  • Remember, if you are using any type of beads like a heart, star, make sure it is facing the right direction (up or down) so when it lays out the beads are facing right side up.

Secure the beads!

Once you have threaded all the beads in the design you like, you will want to tie a knot at the end to keep them from sliding off.

I like to do a surgeon's knot to make it nice and strong.

  1. Hold one end of the thread in each hand.

  2. Cross the right end over the left end and then pass it under to make the first part a simple overhand knot. Pull it tight!

  3. Now, pass the right end over the left end again and this time, wrap it around twice. This will add extra friction and security!

  4. Finally, cross the right end over the left end one more time and pull it through to complete the knot.

  5. Pull it one more time to secure the knot!

03

Cut The Extra Cord

Once you have tied your knot, we will hide it under the charm.

  • Cut the excess cord

  • Use a lighter and burn the edges (this will make sure it doesn't fray)

  • Move the big charm over the knot to hide it!

And now you are done!

Attach it to your phone and show off your cool design!
